All About 3 Transits + A New Moon

In our last newsletter, we sat with the warmth of Jupiter reaching a friendly angle to Saturn on the thirty first, a gentle and supportive exchange that asked us to build something steady while still allowing room for growth. That conversation between two of the sky's great teachers gave us a quiet foundation. Now we turn our attention forward, because the sky is preparing to move again, and it is moving in a way that touches communication, love, family, money, the self, and the deeper structures we rely on for a sense of freedom. All of this arrives together on September 10th, and because so much shifts on a single day, I want to walk you through it slowly and thoroughly before that date arrives, so you can meet it already informed rather than caught by surprise.

Think of this newsletter as the map before the journey, a way of understanding the terrain so that when we walk it together next week, everything will already feel familiar.

I know that four significant events landing on a single day can feel like a great deal to absorb, so our intention here is to slow everything down and walk through each piece individually before we ever attempt to weave them together into personal guidance. A New Moon on its own already asks something meaningful of us. Add three planets changing signs or changing direction on that very same day, and the sky is essentially handing us four separate invitations at once. I think the most helpful way to receive that invitation is to understand each piece fully first, one at a time, patiently and thoroughly, so that nothing later catches you unprepared.

A New Moon always marks a beginning, a moment when the Sun and Moon sit together in the same degree and sign, and the sky offers us a blank page. Virgo is the sign of refinement, of daily practice, of health, of service, and of the small consistent actions that build something lasting over time. An 18th degree placement in Virgo carries a great deal of concentrated attention, because this New Moon does not arrive quietly. It arrives surrounded by other significant movement, which is exactly why we describe this day as carrying so much charge. When a New Moon shares its calendar day with three separate planetary shifts, the energy of new beginnings becomes layered and complex rather than singular. Virgo asks us to look honestly at our habits, our routines, our bodies, and our sense of order, and this New Moon invites a fresh chapter in exactly those areas of life.

There is something quietly powerful about a New Moon in Virgo specifically, because Virgo does not chase grand gestures. It builds through devotion to small things done well, through consistency, through paying attention to what has been overlooked, and through a genuine willingness to tend to the parts of our lives that ask for care rather than attention. A lunation here plants seeds in the soil of routine, health, and daily discipline, and those seeds tend to grow slowly rather than instantly. This one also arrives just as three other planets are shifting position, which means the fresh start Virgo offers will be filtered through the deeper feelings Venus is about to stir in Scorpio, the more diplomatic voice Mercury is about to find in Libra, and the inward reflection Uranus is about to request from Gemini. A beginning surrounded by this much simultaneous change tends to feel especially charged, and many people describe New Moons like this one as carrying an unusually high degree of intensity and forward pull.

On that same day, Venus leaves the airy and social terrain of Libra and enters the deep waters of Scorpio. Venus governs love, beauty, values, money, and the way we relate to other people, and when this planet moves into Scorpio, the tone of those areas changes considerably. Scorpio is a sign that does not deal in the surface. It asks for depth, for honesty, and for a willingness to feel things fully rather than politely managing them from a distance. When Venus travels through Scorpio, our relationships tend to intensify. Casual connection becomes less satisfying, and there is often a pull toward bonds that feel meaningful, loyal, and true. This placement touches family as well, because Scorpio governs shared resources, inheritance, and the emotional undercurrents that run through a household. Money themes also come forward under this transit, particularly around shared finances, debt, investments, or resources that belong to more than one person. And because Venus also speaks to our own sense of worth, this transit invites each of us to ask what we truly value, beneath the habits and appearances we present to the world. Family, love, money, and the self all become areas where Scorpio's request for honesty and depth will be felt.

It helps to remember that Venus in Scorpio does not behave the way Venus does in lighter, airier signs. Where Libra seeks pleasant balance and Gemini enjoys variety, Scorpio wants to know what is real underneath the surface. This is a placement that magnifies emotion rather than smoothing it over, and many people notice a stronger pull toward privacy, toward loyalty, and toward relationships that feel earned rather than easy. Within the family, this transit can bring old patterns, old loyalties, or long held emotional bonds into sharper focus, inviting a kind of honest reckoning with what truly holds a household together. Around money, Scorpio's influence often turns our attention toward shared accounts, debts, taxes, or anything financially entangled with another person, asking us to face those realities directly rather than avoiding them. And when it comes to the self, Venus in Scorpio asks a deeply personal question, namely what we actually desire once we strip away performance, habit, and the expectations of others. This is a transit that rewards honesty and tends to feel uncomfortable wherever we have been avoiding the truth.

Also on September 10th, Mercury completes its journey through Virgo and steps into Libra. Mercury governs the mind, communication, and the way we process and share information. Virgo has kept Mercury focused on precision, on details, and on practical problem solving. Libra offers a different kind of thinking entirely. This is the sign of balance, of partnership, and of fairness, and when Mercury enters Libra, our communication style tends to soften and become more diplomatic. Conversations may lean toward negotiation, toward finding common ground, and toward considering multiple points of view before settling on one. This is a favorable placement for discussions that require tact, for mediating between two sides, and for any conversation where the goal is agreement rather than argument. Mercury in Libra also brings a heightened awareness of fairness in our exchanges with others, and many people find that decisions involving contracts, partnerships, or shared plans feel more approachable while Mercury travels through this sign.

The third and, in many ways, the most far reaching shift on September 10th belongs to Uranus, which stations retrograde in Gemini at 6 degrees. Uranus is the planet of sudden change, invention, and the breaking of old patterns, and Gemini is the sign of communication, information, thought, and the exchange of ideas. Uranus retrograde motion happens every year, and it always asks us to turn our attention inward toward the very themes that Uranus is currently activating, rather than continuing to push those themes outward into the world. Because Uranus is presently in Gemini, this retrograde period becomes a time to look inward at how we communicate, how we consume information, how we use technology, and how flexible or rigid our thinking has become.

It is worth taking real care to understand the difference between the degree where Uranus stations retrograde and the degree where it will later station direct, because these two points are not the same and they do not carry the same meaning. Uranus turns retrograde at 6 degrees of Gemini. From that point forward, Uranus will appear to travel backward through the sky, moving away from six degrees and toward earlier degrees of Gemini. This Retrograde journey continues for several months, and Uranus will eventually slow, pause, and turn direct again on February 8, 2027, at 2 degrees of Gemini. That second point, two degrees, sits earlier in the sign than the 6-degree point where the Retrograde began. This means that by the time Uranus turns direct, it will have traveled backward across 4 full degrees of Gemini, revisiting ground it had already covered on its forward path. Everything that happens between those two markers belongs to this particular retrograde chapter, and understanding both ends of that arc will matter greatly once we begin exploring what this transit means on a personal level.

When a New Moon coincides with three separate planetary shifts, the sky is essentially offering several beginnings and several turning points all within the same 24 hours. Virgo asks for refinement, Scorpio asks for depth, Libra asks for balance, and Gemini, through Uranus, asks for an honest look inward at how we think and communicate. None of these energies work against one another, yet each one carries enough weight on its own that experiencing all four together produces a day that feels layered, active, and unusually significant. This is precisely why I wanted to bring this to you now, several days ahead of the actual date, so that you have time to sit with the shape of what is coming before it arrives.

So cheers to another week filled with some seriously beautiful discovery. May every conversation you have feel gentle and true, may your relationships deepen in the most loving way possible, and may you feel supported every single step of the way. Sending you so much love.

Mantras:

As you sit with everything that is approaching, here are three mantras to hold onto in the days ahead.

I welcome depth in my relationships, and I trust that honesty brings me closer to what is real.

I speak with fairness, and I allow my words to build understanding rather than distance.

I look inward with an open heart, and I trust that reviewing my path only strengthens where I am going.
