All About Preparing For The New Moon In Virgo

Something is building right now, and if you know how to work with it, the next few weeks could set you up for real, lasting change. We are heading toward a New Moon on September 10th, and the sky is spending the days before it doing exactly what it should do: preparing you. Not rushing you though, preparing you.

Let's walk through what is actually happening up there, what it means for you on the ground, and what to do with it before that New Moon gets here.

Today Jupiter and Saturn form a trine. Jupiter is sitting in Leo. Saturn is in Aries, retrograde, at 14 degrees. A trine is one of the friendliest angles in astrology. It means these two planets are not fighting each other, so they are beautifully cooperating.

Here is why that matters more than one would think though. Jupiter is the planet of growth, opportunity, and belief in what is possible. Saturn is the planet of structure, discipline, and the long game. When these two are working together instead of against each other, you get something rare: big plan paired with real follow through.

This is not a lucky break kind of energy, as it is more of a builder's kind of energy. Saturn is asking you to put a frame around your goals, and to give them a shape you can actually build on. Jupiter is right there saying yes, this is worth doing, keep going.

You will feel this as a pull toward being realistic about your goals, in the best sense of that word. You start asking, what would it actually take to get this done? What structure do I need? What habit needs to become permanent instead of occasional?

The path to whatever you are reaching for right now runs through consistency. Small, repeated, boring on the outside, steady actions done again and again until they add up to something undeniable. So, take a moment this week and ask yourself where you have been inconsistent. Where have you started something with fire and then let it fade after a few days? That is the exact area Jupiter and Saturn are pointing to. That is where the work is.

The very next day, September 1st, Mars forms a square to Saturn. Mars is in Cancer. Saturn is still at that same 14-degree point in Aries. A square is a tension aspect. It is friction. It is two planets pulling in different directions and forcing you to figure out how to handle it.

Mars wants to move. Mars wants action, right now, as in today. Saturn wants proof, patience, and a plan. When these two square off, you might feel a strong urge to jump into something new, anew project, a new relationship, a new business idea, pretty much new anything. Do not do it. Not yet. This is the day to notice that urge and sit with it instead of acting on it. The square is not telling you the idea is bad. It is telling you the timing is off. Mars in Cancer wants emotional safety and a sense of home before it commits to anything. Saturn in Aries at 14 degrees is asking hard questions about whether you have actually built the foundation this new venture needs.

So, instead of leaping, use this day to slow down. Look at the details you have been avoiding. What paperwork have you not filled out? What conversation have you been putting off? What research have you skipped because it felt boring compared to the excitement of starting something new? This is the day to do the unglamorous work.

But wait there’s more lol! Also, September 1st, Mercury and Mars are on your side. The same day, Mercury forms a sextile to Mars. Mercury. A sextile is a supportive angle, a little easier and lighter than a trine, but still very much in your favor. This is good news layered right on top of the Mars and Saturn tension. Mercury in Virgo is sharp, detailed, and practical. It wants to research, organize, and understand things fully before moving forward. Mars in Cancer brings emotional drive and a deep gut level sense of what feels right.

Together, this combination gives you patience with a purpose. You are not just being told to wait around and do nothing. You are being given the mental sharpness to use that waiting period well. Your ability to dig into research, to study the fine print, to notice the small detail everyone else missed, all of that is working extremely well on this day.

So, while Mars square Saturn is telling you not to rush, Mercury sextile Mars is handing you the tools to prepare properly instead. Read the documents. Study the numbers. Ask the questions you have been avoiding. Get organized. This is the day your mind works at its best, so use it.

Put these three moments together and a clear message appears. Jupiter and Saturn tell you that consistency is your path to success and that your goals need a real plan behind them. Mars and Saturn tell you not to act impulsively, that this is a moment to prepare rather than launch. Mercury and Mars tell you that your research and attention to detail will serve you extremely well during this window.

None of this is about holding back out of fear, but it is about timing. September 10th is when the New Moon arrives, and a New Moon is always a beginning. It is a fresh cycle, a blank page, a moment built for new intentions. I will have a full newsletter on that New Moon coming soon, and it will be worth the wait, because everything you do between now and then determines how strong that launch will actually be.

Think of these two weeks as the quiet part before something loud. The prep work you do now, the consistency you build, the details you finally handle, all of it becomes the foundation the New Moon will build on top of.

Your 10 Point Checklist Before September 10th:

1. Pick one goal you have been chasing on and off, and commit to showing up for it daily, even in small ways.

2. Write down the exact structure or plan behind that goal instead of keeping it vague in your head.

3. Identify one piece of paperwork, admin task, or boring detail you have been avoiding, and finally handle it.

4. Notice any urge to jump into something brand new and instead write it down to revisit after September 10th.

5. Spend real time researching a decision you are close to making. Do not skip the fine print.

6. Look back over the last month and find where you were inconsistent. Name it honestly.

7. Choose one habit you want to make permanent and repeat it every day between now and the New Moon.

8. Have the conversation you have been putting off, especially if it involves an important detail or agreement.

9. Reorganize one part of your life that feels cluttered, whether that is your schedule, your workspace, or your finances.

10. Set an intention for what you want to launch on September 10th, and let it simmer without acting on it yet.

5 Questions To Ask Yourself Right Now:

1. Where in my life have I been all excitement and no follow through?

2. What detail have I been avoiding because it felt tedious rather than thrilling?

3. If I truly built a solid structure under this goal, what would that structure look like?

4. What am I tempted to start today that would actually be stronger if I waited two more weeks?

5. What does consistency look like for me this month, in real, specific, doable terms?

Mantras:

I build steadily, and steady building lasts.

I prepare now so I can make profound and lasting moves later.

Patience is not delay. Patience is my advantage.

And lastly, I get it, nobody gets excited about consistency. Nobody dreams about the boring middle part where you show up for the fifteenth day in a row and nothing dramatic happens yet. But that boring middle part is the entire game. It is what separates the people who talk about their goals from the people who actually live them.

You have two weeks. Use them. Handle the details. Show up every single day for the thing you say you care about. Do the research. Have the hard conversation. Get your plan in place. Then, when September 10th arrives and that New Moon opens the door, you will not be scrambling to catch up. You will already be standing there, ready, because you did the work while everyone else was still waiting for permission.

I will see you back here soon with the full breakdown of the New Moon itself. Until then, keep your head down and keep showing up friend!
