All About Uranus In Gemini

Today, Uranus in Gemini forms a sextile to Neptune Retrograde in Aries, both at 4 degrees. While this aspect may not receive the same attention as an eclipse, Saturn transit, or Mercury Retrograde, it is one of the most important long-term influences currently developing because it connects three themes that will define much of the next several years: information, belief, and power.

Although Uranus and Neptune are meeting in different signs now, this is not the first chapter of the story. These planets previously formed the same aspect between August 28, 2025, and November 20, 2025, when Uranus was moving through Taurus and Neptune was still in Pisces. Events, opportunities, conversations, creative ideas, business plans, spiritual questions, or relationships that emerged during that period may become relevant again. Not because history is repeating itself, but because certain developments require multiple stages before they fully take shape. Uranus and Neptune will meet again through this same aspect on January 15, 2027, and June 6, 2027, suggesting that what is developing now will continue evolving throughout the next year.

Astrologically, Uranus governs disruption, innovation, invention, rebellion, technology, and sudden change. Neptune governs faith, imagination, spirituality, ideals, dreams, and collective vision. A sextile creates opportunity. Unlike a square, which demands action through tension, or an opposition, which creates conflict, a sextile opens a door. Whether people choose to walk through it is another matter entirely.

The last time Uranus and Neptune formed a series of supportive and disruptive aspects was between 1966 and 1968 during the administration of Lyndon B. Johnson. Those years were marked by enormous cultural, social, and philosophical change. Civil rights movements expanded, anti-war sentiment grew, and seemingly well accepted religious structures faced increasing scrutiny. Eastern philosophy, meditation, alternative spirituality, and new approaches to consciousness entered mainstream conversation as well. In my opinion this was an opening for awakening and while some surely awakened, some still didn’t. Younger generations became increasingly willing to challenge assumptions that previous generations had largely accepted. Whether one views that period positively or negatively, it is difficult to argue that it left society unchanged. 

The similarities now are difficult to ignore. Uranus is now moving through Gemini, the sign associated with communication, information, education, media, transportation, language, and the exchange of ideas. Neptune is moving through Aries, a sign associated with identity, independence, initiative, leadership, and individual conviction. Together, these placements suggest that many of the defining questions of the coming years will revolve around what people believe, how they acquire information, and who they trust. All of it is changing.

This is occurring at the same time that Pluto continues its long journey through Aquarius. Pluto entered Aquarius to expose weaknesses within collective systems and force transformation where existing structures have become outdated. Aquarius governs communities, networks, technology, social movements, institutions, and the relationship between the individual and the group. Pluto’s role is not to preserve those systems whatsoever, his role is to reveal where they are no longer functioning and need to be put to rest. 

That story becomes even more visible on July 18th when Uranus forms an exact trine to Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius. This is the first of five exact Uranus-Pluto trines occurring between July 2026 and May 2028, although the broader influence remains active from July 2025 through May 2029. Trines are generally considered supportive aspects because they allow energy to move more freely. However, when Uranus and Pluto are involved, “supportive” does not necessarily mean comfortable. It simply means that change happens more efficiently, which in my opinion is a good thing. Let’s rip off the energetic band aid already! 

The last Uranus-Pluto trine series occurred between 1921 and 1922. During that period, the world was still adjusting to the aftermath of World War I. Political systems were shifting, economic structures were being rebuilt, and new ideologies were gaining traction. Benito Mussolini’s rise was already underway, while conditions that later contributed to Adolf Hitler’s ascent were developing beneath the surface. Communist, nationalist, and fascist movements were expanding. The astrology certainly did not create those outcomes, but it coincided with a period when populations became increasingly willing to experiment with new political and social models.

But history does not repeat itself in exact form, nor should astrology be used to predict specific political outcomes, as outer-planet cycles often reveal the kinds of themes societies are working through. The current cycle suggests we are entering another period where existing systems are being challenged by emerging ideas, technologies, and power structures.

One of the major differences between the 1920s and today is speed. Information now moves globally within seconds which means public opinion shifts faster, misinformation spreads faster, and corrections spread faster. Nearly every institution now operates within an environment of constant communication and constant reaction. Uranus in Gemini amplifies this reality because Gemini accelerates the exchange of information wherever it travels.

For many people, these transits will not be experienced primarily through world events. They will appear through personal decisions, as in career path changes, a business model evolves, a friendship circle shifts, a move becomes necessary, an old belief no longer feels accurate, and a new opportunity appears unexpectedly. But the funny thing is, Uranus rarely asks whether change is convenient and Pluto rarely asks whether we are ready. It can be very intense. 

At the collective level, several developments appear increasingly likely over the next few years. Public trust in institutions may continue shifting as people seek information from a wider variety of sources. Technological developments may advance more quickly than legal or regulatory systems can adapt to them. Education, media, publishing, transportation, communication platforms, and artificial intelligence are all areas that could experience substantial change. We may also see growing interest in spiritual practices that emphasize direct personal experience over established authority, a theme that strongly reflects Neptune’s movement through Aries.

Perhaps the most important observation is that Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto have all entered new signs within a relatively short period of time. To me, that is unusual. When multiple outer planets simultaneously change signs, collective priorities change with them. The assumptions, institutions, technologies, and belief systems that dominated one era gradually give way to something else. We are still early in that transition, which means many of the developments associated with these cycles have not fully revealed themselves yet.

Rather than viewing these transits as inherently positive or negative, it may be more useful to view them as transitional. Some developments will likely prove beneficial, while others may create challenges that require adjustment. What remains clear is that the pace of change is accelerating, and the choices made during the next several years will likely shape the direction of the decade that follows. For now, pay attention to what is emerging, remain flexible when plans change, and resist the urge to assume that today’s circumstances are permanent. We are still in the opening chapters of a much longer cycle, and many of the answers have yet to reveal themselves.
