Rose Tide Necklace

This necklace holds fire and sky in a single strand, half tender rose and half quiet Caribbean blue. One side glows in faceted pink sapphire, cut to a bright three millimeters, warm and saturated with real depth to it. Pink sapphire is known as a stone of the heart in its gentlest form, one that nurtures self love, emotional healing, and the kind of quiet devotion that asks for nothing in return. The other side flows in faceted Larimar, also cut to three millimeters, a soft blue green found in only one place on earth, the coast of the Dominican Republic, where it forms in the wake of volcanic heat meeting the sea. Larimar is known as a stone of tranquility, one that eases the mind, calms the nervous system, and connects the wearer to a deep and steady sense of peace. Along the Larimar side, for about one inch, the stones give way to an alternating run of freshwater pearls and gold filled beads, a small tide of moonlight and warmth before the blue returns.

 At the center of it all hangs a hammered oyster shell pendant finished in gold vermeil, cradling a single pearl at its heart like a small reliquary. It is a quiet reminder that our most luminous qualities are often formed slowly, under pressure, hidden away until the moment they are ready to be seen. This piece is made with gold filled metal throughout, with the exception of the vermeil pendant, and it measures thirteen and a half inches in total length.
